CARTHAGE. Libyan Revolt. Circa 241-238 BC. Shekel (Billon, 22 mm, 7.58 g, 12 h), Mercenary war issue. Head of youthful Herakles to left, wearing lion's skin headdress tied below his chin. Rev. [ΛΙ]ΒΥΩΝ (partially retrograde) Lion crouching to right; above, barely visible, 𐤌. I. Carradice and S. La Niece, The Libyan War and Coinage, NC 1988, pp. 32-52, pl. 7, 1. SNG Copenhagen 239. Toned and with a seemingly manic lion on the reverse. Good very fine.
