Anonymous, circa 225-214 BC. Quadrigatus (Silver, 23 mm, 6.62 g, 7 h), Rome. Laureate janiform head of the Dioscuri, with separated sideburns. Rev. Jupiter standing to right, holding a sceptre in his left hand and hurling a thunderbolt with his right, in a fast quadriga driven by Victory to right; below, on a rectangular raised tablet with vertical ends, ROMA incuse. Crawford 28/3. HN III 334. RBW 64. RSC 23. Sydenham 64. Attractive dark toning; very well centered struck on a very broad flan. Extremely fine.
