PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Myriandros. Time of Artaxerxes III to Darios III, Circa 350-333 BC. Obol (fourrée, 10 mm, 0.57 g, 11 h), Contemporary imitation. Male head (Artaxerxes IV?) to left, wearing pschent crown of Egypt. Rev. Persian Great King (Artaxerxes III?) seated to right on throne, wearing pschent crown of Egypt, holding lotus flower in his left hand and lotus-tipped scepter with his right. Göktürk 35, SNG Paris 429 (for prototype). Earthen highlights, otherwise, very fine.



Metallurgical analysis shows that this coin is 86.35% copper, 10.82% silver, 1.37% iron, 0.095% zinc, 0.083% antimony.
