MYSIA. Pionia. Antoninus Pius, 138-161. (Bronze, 26 mm, 9.28 g, 12 h), Struck under Louperkos Kai, strategos for the second time, 147-161. ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΤΙ ΑΙ ΑΔΡΙ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝOC Bare head of Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. ΕΠΙ CΤΡ ΛOΥΠΕΡΚOΥ ΚΑΙ ΤO Β ΠΙOΝΙΤΩΝ The river-god Satnioeis reclining to left, resting his left elbow on a vessel from which water flows, between two turreted goddesses standing, facing each other, each raising one arm and holding a scepter with the other. RPC IV.2, ID 71 (temporary). SNG Paris 2336. SNG von Aulock 1562 (but located in Troas, and with the goddessses identified as Nike). Very rare, the RPC only cites 5 examples. Clear, with a dark patina and green highlights. Minor marks, otherwise, good fine.
